How to Apply

Because of transitions in our funding, JWJI will not be offering our traditional external fellowships for academic year 2025-2026. We hope to bring the external dissertation and postdoctoral fellowships back online soon.  In the meantime, we look forward to our continued partnership with the UNCF-Mellon Fellowship Program and with Laney Graduate School fellowship.

Prospective fellows who have secured outside funding and are interested in affiliating with JWJI are welcome to inquire about securing a residency.  Such no-cost fellowships will be awarded on a case-by-case basis as space allows and at the director’s discretion.

We are disappointed that we cannot offer our traditional fellowships this year, but we look forward to announcing an external fellowship competition in future years.  Please consult our website next fall for additional announcements. Thank you for your consideration.
